Public Education Document; Represents the firsts synopsis of the October 1993 discussions at the Aspen Institute’s Wye Woods Conference facility on the topic of Globalization process (particularly NAFTA and GATT) and the potential impacts on Rural America.

Discussants examine trends in economic development, corporate strategy, industrial modernization, and workforce training that support America’s ability to succeed in the global economy; what policies are needed a the national, state, and local levels to take advantage of the opportunities raised by globalization and to counter any threats that may ensue. Conference Discussants provide a set of 15 policy consensus over broadly defined areas.
