Document provides an action plan for the Southern Regional Policy Center (SRPC). Document provides brief outline of intended areas of focus (dependency reversals, regional colleges and economic development, Industrial modernization, economic infrastructure, urban and regional growth systems, governance and policy capacity, analytical and policy tools).
The Center’s three major functions are to: (1) Create the basis for the formation of new partnerships with communities, the private sector, and quasi-public organizations, (2) provide Southern policymakers with the best possible research findings and guidance concerning development policy, (3) serve as a hub of research, cooperation, and information dissemination that draws on the educational resources of the region.
