Treading Water: The Stagnation Of Family Income Since 1973

View this Publication

Report shows wage stagnation among working-class families from 1973-1993.

Author finds significant decrease among men and high school/college aged individuals in particular. Families now see younger children and women as integral rather than supplementary additions of family income. Higher education was shown to not necessarily lead to higher income, but may be necessary to prevent a decline in wages.
